Textbook Distribution Commences in Chattogram with Enthusiasm

CHATTOGRAM: The distribution of new textbooks for primary and secondary students commenced in Chattogram today, marked by significant enthusiasm and festivity. The initiative aims to provide educational materials to thousands of students across the city and district, with a completion target set for later this month.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, primary students from class one to class three have already received their textbooks, while those in classes four and five are expected to receive theirs by the end of the month. The District Education Office of Chattogram announced that all secondary textbooks are scheduled for distribution by January 15. On this initial day, textbooks for class six and seven students were handed out at various schools throughout Chattogram city and district, with the remaining books to be distributed after academic activities resume on January 5.



S M Abdur Rahman, the district primary education officer of Chattogram, stated that educational institutions under the Kotwali and Panchlaish thana education offices have received textbooks for classes six and seven. Other institutions will receive their allocations gradually. Authorities have outlined the requirement for a total of 4,418,187 books to be distributed among 104,632 students across 4,066 institutions in Chattogram.



The district primary education officer further explained that all primary school authorities have already received books for students in classes one to three, and the remaining secondary-level schools are set to receive their textbooks by January 31. Despite the cold weather, primary students eagerly attended school this morning, expressing delight at receiving their new books on the first day of the new year.
