Dhaka: Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Friday. The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Rangamati and Kumarkhali in Khulna, while Dhaka experienced a temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius.
According to United News of Bangladesh, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning are likely at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, with isolated hailstorms expected in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am on Friday. Weather in other regions of the country may remain mainly dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky.
The BMD has reported that a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while a seasonal low is positioned over the South Bay.
