Teesta Master Plan Implementation Set for 2027: Dulu

Lalmonirhat: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu announced that the formal implementation of the Teesta Master Plan is scheduled to begin in 2027.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Dulu made these remarks while addressing a gathering at Khuniagach SC High School ground in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila. The event, held on a Saturday afternoon, aimed at empowering women, enhancing sports standards, and building an 'enlightened Lalmonirhat'.

The minister highlighted the government's active efforts to bring the Teesta Master Plan to fruition, emphasizing its significance in addressing the persistent challenges faced by residents along the Teesta River and adjacent regions. He urged for community cooperation to tackle social issues such as drug abuse, gambling, child marriage, and dowry.

During the event, 11 sewing machines and sports equipment were distributed to various educational institutions. Additionally, each of the 750 families affected by floods and river erosion received 20 kilograms of government relief rice.
