Tangail: A kindergarten teacher was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the Rasulpur area under Sadar upazila of the district today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Abdul Alim, 50, son of Abdul Quddus, a resident of Rajapur Char area under Gabsara union in Bhuapur upazila of the district. He lived in the Ghantandi area under Bhuapur Municipality and was the teacher and director of Probhati Kindergarten School.
The accident occurred when Abdul Alim was traveling to work in Bhuapur from Tangail by a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the morning. On the way, it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction around 8:30 am, leaving him dead on the spot and two others injured, stated officer-in-charge (OC) of Elenga Highway Police Station Nannu Khan.
The injured were taken to Tangail General Hospital for treatment, the OC added.
