TCB Initiates Sale of Discounted Essential Commodities in Khulna for Ramadan

Khulna: The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has commenced the sale of essential commodities at subsidized prices through trucks at 15 designated points in Khulna city to mark the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on consumers during the festive period by providing essential goods such as soybean oil, lentils, sugar, chickpeas, and dates at prices lower than the prevailing market rates.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the sale began this morning at various locations across the city. The designated points include Boyra Government Women’s College, Prantik Market, Textile Mill Road, Goborchaka Palli Mangal School ground, Ershad Ali School ground, in front of Shishu Hospital, in front of Bagmara Motaleb Chairman’s house, Bosupara Orphanage Road, Alkatra Club intersection, Khulna Press Club, South Tutpara Mosque ground, Pioneer Government Women’s College, Shipyard Road Chandmari Bazar, beneath the Rupsha Bridge, Afil Uddin School premises, and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Khulna.



Sources indicate that chickpeas and dates have been added to the list of regular items specifically for Ramadan, with each package priced at Taka 590. Approximately 400 customers will be able to purchase products from each truck daily, ensuring that a significant number of residents benefit from this initiative.



Khulna Regional Director of TCB, Md Humayun Kabir, stated that the products will be available for sale every day except on weekly and government holidays, ensuring consistent access to these essential goods throughout the holy month.
