Dhaka: ‘I am your son. I will speak of your conveniences and inconveniences and will work for you. For this, everyone’s cooperation is necessary,’ BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman told the residents of the city’s Korail area. The BNP Chairman made the remarks while speaking at a prayer meeting this afternoon, organized by ‘Korailbashi’ at the Mohakhali T and T ground to seek forgiveness for the soul of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman arrived on the stage of the prayer meeting at 4 pm and greeted everyone present by raising both hands. Pledging to stand by the residents of Korail, he emphasized the party’s commitment to improving the living standards of common people. Expressing gratitude to the residents, he highlighted the contributions of Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to education and the welfare of the country.
Addressing the Korail residents, Rahman acknowledged the hardships they face and expressed his plans to alleviate these issues by building housing and providing education facilities. He mentioned the intention to register flats in the residents’ names and establish good schools and playgrounds for children.
Rahman also outlined BNP’s healthcare plans, aiming to bring clinics and hospitals closer to the residents. He stressed the importance of community support in realizing these initiatives and asked the crowd to convey his message of unity and strength to those who could not attend the gathering.
The meeting, conducted by Abdus Salam, Chief Coordinator of the BNP Election Management Committee for Dhaka-17 constituency, also saw the participation of Tarique Rahman’s wife, Zobaida Rahman. Prayers were offered for the martyrs of the Liberation War, recent movements, and the peace and prosperity of the nation.
