Dhaka: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will attend a citizens’ condolence meeting for former BNP Chairperson and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban tomorrow. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday after the Zuma prayers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman, along with all family members, will be present at this meeting at 2:30 pm. This was disclosed during a press conference held today at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Convention Hall in the city, chaired by educationist and economist Professor Dr. Mahbub Ullah.
Speakers at the press conference mentioned that all members of Khaleda Zia’s family have been invited to the condolence meeting, and they have confirmed their attendance. Former Chief Justice Syed JR Modassir Hossain will attend as the chief guest, along with eminent citizens, media professionals, and representatives from various sectors of the country.
The press conference was attended by Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (education) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Executive Editor of Daily Ittefaq Saleh Uddin, General Secretary of Bangladesh Federal Journalists’ Union (BFUJ) Kader Gani Chowdhury, Director General of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Faruq Wasif, and Chairman of Debate for Democracy Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, among others.
