Dhaka: Six-year-old Tanvirul Islam Ratul, the son of a rickshaw puller from Barhatta upazila in Netrakona district, has been suffering from heart diseases since birth. His early years have been marked by continuous health challenges.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ratul was admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in the capital on June 30 under the instructions of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The Head of the Department of Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, Associate Professor Dr. Md Zahidul Islam, and Associate Professor of the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Kazi Saiful Islam Shakil, successfully conducted Ratul’s surgery.
The medical process was closely overseen by Dr. ANM Monowarul Quadir Bitu, former Joint Secretary General of Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) and Assistant Professor of Cardiology Department of Bangladesh Medical University. According to the medical team, Ratul is now physically sound and is expected to return home in the next two to three days. The leaders extended BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s greetings to Ratul’s family and assured continuous support for any future medical needs.
