Rangpur: BNP central organizing secretary for Rangpur division, Principal Asadul Habib Dulu, announced that the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, has outlined a 31-point proposal aimed at reforming the state structure. “It is not possible to run the country without a government elected by the people and therefore we demand the interim government to announce a roadmap for elections,” Dulu stated during a rally held in front of the BNP district office at Grand Hotel Mour, in observance of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dulu criticized the last fifteen and a half years of governance, claiming that the judicial, legal, and administrative departments had been heavily influenced by the ruling party during the Awami League’s tenure under the leadership of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He further alleged that Sheikh Hasina unjustifiably imprisoned BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia for six years, while Tarique Rahman was forced to migrate.

Dulu addressed th
e rally presided over by Rangpur city BNP convener Samsuzzaman Samu, stating, “After that, the fascist Hasina government fell in a popular uprising by the students-people. The collapse of Awami League has been extreme as the students-people and BNP leaders and activists joined in the uprising for the second independence.”

The event saw the participation of several BNP leaders including Abdul Khaleque, Md Saiful Islam, Anisur Rahman Laku, and others. Following the rally, various units of BNP and its affiliate organizations led colorful processions through the city, culminating in a gathering at DC Mour. During these processions, BNP supporters demanded the arrest and punishment of Awami League members involved in the July revolution’s alleged genocide and called for an election roadmap.

To commemorate the National Revolution and Solidarity Day, BNP organized a cultural program at the Central Shaheed Minar, which saw significant attendance from party leaders and supporters throughout the day.
