SYLHET: Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and chief patron of ‘Amra BNP Paribar’, has provided crucial support to the family of Md Iqbal Hasan Emon, an Under-19 Asia Cup-winning cricketer, by gifting two electronic auto-rickshaws to his financially struggling family.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Chief Adviser of ‘Amra BNP Paribar’, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, presented the auto-rickshaws to Emon’s father, Md. Bakar Mia, at a modest ceremony held at Humayun Rashid Chattar in Sylhet. This gesture of support from Tarique Rahman aims to ease the financial burden on the family, who reside in Karimpur village of Moulvibazar district, and whose primary income source is Bakar Mia’s work as a day laborer.

The ceremony saw the attendance of several prominent BNP figures, including BNP Standing Committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Chairperson’s Adviser Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, and others from the BNP National Executive Committee. The gathering underscored the party’s ongoing commitment to supporting its communities and members, regardless of their socio-economic status.
Also present were Sylhet District BNP General Secretary Emran Ahmed Chowdhury, Sylhet City BNP Assistant General Secretary Emdad Hossain Chowdhury, and Qatar BNP General Secretary Shariful Haque Saju, who played a key role in conducting the program.
