Dhaka: BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended warm greetings to the members of Hindu community ahead of Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the community. In a statement issued here today, he said Bangladesh has already established a unique example of religious harmony with the celebration of ‘Sharadiya Durgotsab’ without any hindrance with the cooperation of all.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman highlighted concerns about recent attempts to disrupt this harmony. He noted that the beneficiaries of the previous dictatorship have been trying to create conflict by undermining the traditionally established communal harmony during ‘Durgotsab’ for political purposes.

Rahman emphasized that conspiracies have persisted even after the fall of the dictatorship. He called for vigilance and preparedness to thwart such attempts, urging BNP leaders and workers to ensure peaceful celebrations of Durga Puja nationwide.

He reiterated the respect for the religious rights of every citizen in Bangladesh and affirmed the BNP’s commitment to maintaining religious harmony, standing firmly against any attempts to destroy it.
