Dhaka: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today extended his gratitude to the country’s esteemed Pirs, Mashayekh, Alims, Ulema, Imams, and Khatibs for their unwavering support to the party.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly indicated that the BNP Chairman expressed sincere appreciation and congratulated senior religious scholars following news reports on Wednesday that top Islamic leaders from all schools of thought had extended their support to BNP.
The BNP Chairman stated that at this historic moment for the nation, the stance taken by the country’s top Islamic scholars will provide the people with proper guidance. “This clear position of the Alim-Ulema community will play a vital role in preventing misinformation and propaganda against BNP, a party that believes in Islamic values,” he added.
He further mentioned, “I believe that with the national election on the horizon, this will help the people of the country receive the right direction in establishing their political and social rights.”
Tarique Rahman once again thanked the respected Alims and Ulema and sought their continued cooperation in building a safe and humane Bangladesh.
