Tanzid, Aich Mollah hit ton in NCL first round

Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Aich Mollah hit centuries to

make the headline in the first round of the National Cricket Stadium.

Thanks to Tanzid’s century which was complemented by SM Meherod Hossain’s

six-wicket haul, Rajshahi took a big lead against Khulna in the first innings

after the Day 2 game at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

Put into bat first, Rajshahi were bundled out for 426 with Tanzid hammering

133 ball-141 and Farhad Hossain making 93. Shakhir Hossain Shurvo was the

other notable scorer with 68.

Meherob claimed 6-35 to help the side skittle Khulna out for just 194,

ensuring the side’s 232 runs lead.

Dhaka Metro declared the first innings on 408-5 after Aich Mollah hit 122 and

captain Marshall Ayub struck 127 in their match against Barishal Division at

Sylhet Academy ground. Barishal reached 22 for no loss in 7 overs at stumps.

At Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna, Sylhet were bowled out for 146 after

which their opponent Dhaka ended the Day 2 on 38-1.

The match between Ra
ngpur Division and Chattogram began on Day 2 after the

Day 1 was washed out due to rain. Asked to bat first, Rangpur reached 69-1

before the day’s game ended.
