Petrovac: FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia split point with International Master Atanasov Anthony of Canada in the 9th round of the World Junior (Under-20 Years) Chess Championship held in Petrovac, Montenegro.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tahsin played with black pieces in the Colley system of the Queen's Pawn Opening game and drew with IM Atanasov Anthony after 31 moves. With this result, Tahsin secured 5.5 points after the 9th round.
In another match, International Master Manon Reja Neer also split point with FIDE Master Akhilbay Imangali of Kazakhstan. Neer played with black pieces and opted for the Sicilian Defense. The game continued with the Four Knights Variation and concluded in a draw after 24 moves. Neer has accumulated five points following the ninth round.
The 10th or penultimate round is scheduled to be held today at 8 pm.
