Chattogram: The 45th founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Swecchasebak Dal was observed in the port city today with a colourful rally and gathering organised by its Chattogram Metropolitan unit. The rally commenced in the afternoon from the Jamiatul Falah Mosque field and paraded through several important city roads before concluding at GEC Circle.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nazimur Rahman, member secretary of Chattogram Metropolitan BNP, addressed the pre-rally gathering as the chief guest. During his speech, he highlighted the disciplined nature of the Swecchasebak Dal, recognizing its significant role in the 17-year anti-fascist movement and struggle. He urged the organisation’s leaders and activists to engage in a greater struggle to implement the 31-point charter of demands put forward by the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for state building and reform.
The gathering was presided over by Metropolitan Swecchasebak Dal Convener Belayet Hossain Bulu and was moderated by its Member Secretary Engr. Jamir Uddin Nahid. Israfil Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP’s central international affairs sub-committee, addressed the gathering as the chief speaker.
Leaders and activists from the metropolitan, thana, and ward units of Swecchasebak Dal participated in the rally, carrying banners, festoons, and musical instruments such as drums and cymbals, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the occasion.
