Dhaka: Senior journalist Maruf Kamal Khan's new book, "Rajnitir Sodore-Ondore," published by Suchipotro Prokashoni, was unveiled at a ceremony held at the Jatiya Press Club. The event attracted notable figures from the political and media landscape.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the chief guest at the publication ceremony was Nazrul Islam Khan, Prime Minister's Political Adviser and BNP Standing Committee member. Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon and Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury graced the occasion as special guests. Additional speeches were delivered by Prime Minister's Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly, Principal Information Officer Syed Abdal Ahmed, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury, and Dainik Jugantor Editor Abdul Hye Shikder.
During his address, Information Minister Swapon emphasized that the book serves as more than just literature or a memoir; it is an essential document for political activists, social workers, and informed citizens. He remarked that while general readers may find entertainment in the book's historical accounts, those with a deeper interest will gain knowledge about the complex interplay of political culture and human instincts.
Swapon praised the author, Maruf Kamal Khan, comparing his portrayal of human nature to epic narratives like the Mahabharata. He noted Khan's ability to highlight both delicate and contradictory aspects of human nature. Reflecting on Khan's past role as Deputy Press Secretary to former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Swapon shared memories of their office as a hub for informal discussions, which inspired many of the real events recounted in the book.
Author Maruf Kamal Khan, who is also the editor of Dainik Protidiner Bangladesh, shared insights into the circumstances that led to the creation of his book. The event, conducted by Saied Bari, publisher and chief executive of Suchipotro Prokashoni, was attended by a diverse group of journalists, politicians, cultural figures, and organizational leaders.
