Dhaka:China's development achievements in areas such as technological innovation, infrastructure, economic growth, poverty reduction, and international cooperation are significantly influencing how people in Asian countries perceive Chinese modernization, according to a new survey.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) released the survey titled 'How Neighboring Countries View China's Modernization' at a China Keywords Knowledge Sharing Exchange Session held at the Centre for China Studies, University of Dhaka. The research explores public perceptions of China's modernization across 10 Asian countries, including Tajikistan, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The findings reveal that China's development achievements serve as an essential framework for understanding Chinese modernization in the region. People in neighboring countries are increasingly viewing China's modernization through tangible development outcomes and practical experiences, highlighting the influence of Chinese products and technologies in everyday life and cooperation projects in infrastructure, industry, and connectivity.
The report emphasizes the significant role of young people in shaping perceptions of China through social media, education, tourism, and other channels. It also notes the shared aspirations between Bangladesh and China in exploring modernization paths suitable to their national conditions, focusing on improving well-being and promoting common development.
The event, jointly organized by ACCWS and the Centre for China Studies with support from the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka, highlighted the importance of strengthening youth exchanges, academic cooperation, cultural communication, and people-to-people interactions to enhance mutual understanding between Bangladesh and China.
