Khagrachhari: Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma laid the foundation stone of a hostel at Kamalchhari Pilot High School in the district this afternoon. “The boys and girls of the CHT are achieving significant success in sports. Especially the hill girls are showing their skills and talents and are achieving success in the country and abroad, which is a matter of great pride for us,” he stated at the ceremony as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Supradip highlighted that improved road development in remote hilly areas has facilitated easier movement for people and transportation of manufactured goods. He urged authorities to promptly repair and reconstruct the dilapidated government primary school building adjacent to Kamalchhari Pilot High School and emphasized the need for construction of hostels to enhance the educational environment and infrastructure of primary schools.
Later, the adviser visited the Parbatya Buddhist Mission (PBM) complex, Parbatya Buddhist Mission Pali College premises, Maple House Girls Hostel, and the orphanage building, noting that activities at these institutions remain closed. He engaged with the chairman, members, and local dignitaries of the Khagrachhari Hill District Council to explore necessary initiatives, including forming an orphanage management committee to revive these institutions.
Supradip stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in all work. He also suggested implementing a modern digital education system in the hilly region and converting local primary schools to the English version. The event was attended by Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Shefalika Tripura, Adviser’s Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary) Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman, District Council Members Advocate Manjila, Kangjpru Marma, Professor Abdul Latif, Animoy Chakma, Shahidul Islam Suman, Prashant Kumar Tripura, Bangamitra Chakma, and local dignitaries.
