Dhaka: BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has taken the responsibility for the treatment of four July warriors who allegedly attempted to commit suicide in their hospital beds on Sunday night. Getting the news, a team from Amra BNP Paribar, led by BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, rushed to the hospital under the directives of Tarique Rahman to ensure their care.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team from Amra BNP Paribar took responsibility for the treatment of the four individuals who lost their eyesight during the mass uprising. Rizvi Ahmed, on behalf of Tarique Rahman, expressed sympathy to the July fighters and inquired about their physical conditions.
BNP Health Affairs Assistant Secretary Dr. Parvez Reza Kakon, former joint secretary general of DAB Dr. A.N.M. Monowarul Qadir Bitu, and member secretary of Amra BNP Paribar Moksedul Momin Mithun were present at the hospital during the visit. The four individuals, identified as Shimul, Maruf, Sagar, and Akhtar Hossain alias Taher, were reportedly frustrated over the lack of progress in their treatment and rehabilitation, which led them to consume poison.
They were immediately transferred to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for detoxification and are now out of danger, as confirmed by NITOR Director Professor Dr. Khair Ahmed Chowdhury.
