Dhaka: BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee today emphasized the pivotal role of students and teachers as the main architects of a new Bangladesh, which has been realized through a significant students-people uprising. Speaking at a rally organized by the Bangladesh Madrasha General Teachers' Association (BMGTA) at the Sadar upazila auditorium, Anee highlighted the crucial challenge of establishing a government truly representative of the people to strengthen democracy in the country. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anee criticized the Awami League, describing it as a "fascist" entity that has undermined the nation's democratic fabric. He underlined the sacrifices made by students and citizens in their quest to restore democracy, urging a united effort to ensure its growth and prosperity. The rally also featured speeches from several notable figures, including Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarker, additional deputy commissioners JP Dewan and Samrat Khisha, local BNP district u nit member secretary Sahabuddin Sabu, BMGTA central committee president Md Harun-or-Rashid, and general secretary Firoz Alam. The event was presided over by BMGTA district unit president Professor Mohammad Ali, who reiterated the importance of unity and collective action in achieving democratic progress.
