Dhaka: The Embassy of China on Wednesday emphasized its dedication to providing efficient and quality visa services for Bangladeshi citizens, affirming their commitment to facilitating personnel exchanges between China and Bangladesh. They have cautioned applicants to be on high alert for fraudulent activities.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Embassy clarified that it has not authorized, designated, or recommended any specific institution as an exclusive visa agency, nor has it formed partnerships with any visa service provider. They warned that legal actions would be taken against any institution or individual falsely representing the Embassy in commercial visa application activities.
Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh uncovered misconduct by some travel agencies involved in the visa application process. Issues identified include falsifying application materials, non-disclosure of fees, exaggerating the challenges of obtaining Chinese visas, delaying application procedures, spreading false information, and deceiving applicants. Such activities have disrupted the visa processing operations and adversely affected the interests of applicants.
To enhance the services of visa application agencies, the Embassy announced that effective July 5, 2026, local travel agencies in Bangladesh that handle Chinese visa applications on behalf of applicants must secure accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The Embassy stated that it does not offer preferential treatment or relax screening standards for any agency.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their visa applications independently with complete and eligible documents through the official Chinese Visa Application Service Center website: https://www.visaforchina.cn/, to reduce waiting times. The Embassy also urged individuals to report any irregular activities by visa agencies via official email channels.
