Dhaka: The state has pleaded to stay the High Court (HC) order that declared 'Joy Bangla' as the national slogan of Bangladesh. Confirming the information to newsmen, Additional Attorney General Barrister Aneek Rushd Haque stated that the petition concerning this matter has been filed with the concerned wing of the Appellate Division. The petition is expected to be heard on Sunday, December 8, 2024. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the High Court issued the order on March 10, 2020, officially declaring 'Joy Bangla' as the national slogan of the country. The decision came from a High Court division bench composed of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader, who declared absolute a rule that had been issued earlier on this matter.
