Dhaka: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit today made a surprise visit to Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant of the Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL) in Rampal, Bagerhat. BIFPCL Managing Director Ramanath Pujari received the state minister upon his arrival at 11 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister participated in a view-sharing meeting with senior officials from various departments of BIFPCL. During the meeting, a presentation on the overall activities of the plant was conducted in the conference room of the company’s administrative building.
Following the meeting, the state minister conducted an inspection of the plant’s main control centre, coal shed, coal storage area, jetty, and coal unloading activities. The visit aimed to assess the operational efficiency and management of the plant.
Present at the view-sharing meeting were Bagerhat District Council Administrator Barrister Md Zakir Hossain, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Member Md Zahirul Islam, Project Director Muha. Alauddin, Rampal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamanna Ferdousi, District BNP Convener Engineer AT M Akram Hossain Talim, and District BNP Member Secretary Muzaffar Rahman Alam, among others.
