Narsingdi: A stakeholder meeting was held with the Board of Directors of the Narsingdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), market committee leaders, and traders to ensure stable commodity prices during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting took place on Saturday at the Chamber Hall, presided over by NCCI president Rashedul Hasan Mintu. The event gathered significant attention as it aimed to address the rising prices of essential commodities like oil, rice, and lentils, and explored ways to keep them affordable during the festive season.
During the meeting, the speakers highlighted the factors contributing to the increase in commodity prices and discussed strategies to mitigate these issues. Traders were instructed to adhere to the fixed prices and were warned against hoarding goods to ensure fair distribution and pricing.
The NCCI announced the formation of a market monitoring team that would conduct inspections to ensure compliance with the pricing regulations. Traders were urged to cooperate with the administration to maintain fair prices and prevent exploitation during Ramadan.
The meeting was attended by Senior Vice President Abdul Kaiyum Molla, Vice President Hasib Molla, Narsingdi Bazar Banik Samity President Babul Sarkar, Directors Nazmul Bhuiyan, Delwar Hossain Dulal, Nasir Ahmed Rigan, and other market traders.
