Colombo: Acting Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Arun Hemachandra emphasized the need for a State-level visit between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, aiming to bolster the friendly relations between the two nations.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the announcement came during a farewell meeting between High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka, Andalib Elias, and the acting Foreign Minister. The discussions focused on mutual interests and highlighted the strong friendship and shared commitment of both countries to enhance their bilateral relations in the upcoming years.
During the meeting, the acting Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the High Commissioner's role in strengthening ties between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He acknowledged the progress made in bilateral cooperation and emphasized the favorable timing to elevate the relationship to a higher level.
The Bangladesh High Commissioner extended his gratitude to the Sri Lankan government for its continuous friendship and support, especially in multilateral forums. He reiterated Bangladesh's dedication to deepening cooperation and expanding engagements with Sri Lanka across several sectors of mutual interest.
Additionally, the High Commissioner thanked the acting Foreign Minister for his personal support and guidance during his tenure in Sri Lanka.
