Mymensingh: Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, MP, the Coordinator of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, announced that the organization will persistently advocate for the establishment of discipline and the assurance of workers' rights. He emphasized the crucial role workers play in the economy, highlighting their contributions to industries and businesses, yet noted the widespread issues of rights deprivation and unsafe working conditions faced by workers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shimul Biswas made these remarks while addressing a views-exchange meeting titled "Labour Situation and the Role of Labour Organizations" held at Suryamukhi Hall of Shahjahan Community Centre in Mymensingh city. The meeting was organized by the divisional committee alongside district units and trade unions of the organization. Biswas highlighted the deep connection between the labor community and the nation's economy, development, and social justice, reiterating Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal's commitment to advocating for workers' discipline and rights.
The event, chaired by labor leader Abu Sayeed and moderated by Abdus Sobahan, featured addresses by Sramik Dal publicity secretary Manjurul Islam Manju and local leaders Anwar Hossain, Idris Ali, Asadul Islam, Fazlur Rahman Nantu, Sazedul Islam Sayem, Moniruzzaman Monir, and Shah Sujan. Shimul Biswas asserted that the organization remains steadfast in its mission to protect workers' legitimate rights and will persist in its efforts.
He stressed the importance of balancing workers' rights with workplace discipline, asserting that sustainable development is unattainable without both. He detailed the organization's ongoing efforts to ensure fair wages, safe working environments, health protection, social security, and proper implementation of labor laws. Biswas called for workers to uphold discipline, responsibility, and professional integrity, advocating for mutual respect and cooperation between workers and employers.
Highlighting the organization's belief in building a just and prosperous society through the protection of workers' rights and discipline, Shimul Biswas announced that today's meeting is part of a series of programs. An upcoming meeting of the Chattogram divisional committee is scheduled for March 10, with similar meetings planned for all divisions across the country.
