Mymensingh: A sports competition for children with special needs was held at Mymensingh Welfare School on Wednesday. The event brought together young participants from various educational institutions dedicated to children with special needs, showcasing their talents and abilities in a supportive environment. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event saw active participation from fifty children with special needs hailing from Mymensingh Welfare School, Muk-bodhir School, and Intellectual Disability and Autistic School. Organized by the Mymensingh District Sports Office as part of the annual sports program of the Sports Department, the competition featured a variety of activities including races, throwing balls, treasure hunts, dress as you like, as well as singing and dancing contests. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Mymensingh District Additional Deputy Commissioner (revenue), Shihab Uddin Ahmed, who handed out prizes to the enthusiastic participants. Other notable a ttendees included Mansoor Alam Chandan, managing director of Margin Diagnostic Center, and Md. Safiq Ullah, president of Mymensingh Welfare School. The event was presided over by Mymensingh District Sports Officer, Al-Amin. Participants were awarded medals and certificates for securing the first, second, and third positions in the various activities. In addition to these accolades, every child with special needs who participated in the event received a memento as a token of appreciation for their efforts and participation.
