Special Vaccination Drive Launched in Gazipur Targeting Working Mothers’ Children

Gazipur: Gazipur City Corporation has launched a special vaccination drive targeting children of working mothers, with ten dedicated teams assigned to ensure immunisation, especially during evening hours. City Corporation Administrator Shawkat Hossain Sarker stated that around 150,000 children are expected to be vaccinated across 129 centres in 57 wards of the city as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign. He made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony held this morning on the premises of Joydebpur Government Primary School. The event saw participation from the City Corporation executive officer and other officials.



According to United News of Bangladesh, guardians from nearby areas were seen bringing their children to the centres with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, a nationwide emergency measles-rubella vaccination campaign was launched on Monday to address the ongoing outbreak. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain inaugurated the campaign around 8:15 am at Little Angel Seminary in Jinda Park, Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj.
