Bagerhat: Special prayers and puja ceremonies were held today in various temples across Kachua upazila of the district, seeking peace and salvation for the departed souls of the students and general public who were martyred in the July mass uprising.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision by the interim government led temple committees and Hindu leaders to organize these events at different temples in the upazila. A special prayer, in memory of the martyred and injured persons during the Student-People’s mass uprising, was held at the Shyamukuria Shri Shri Radha Madhab Temple. The event was arranged by Partha Halder, the Member Secretary of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front Kachua upazila branch.
Similarly, another special prayer for the peace and salvation of the July movement martyrs was held at the Shivpur Shivbari Temple in Kachua. This event was organized by the Kochua Shivpur Shivbari Temple, with the support of the Bagerhat District branch of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front.
Additionally, special prayers and puja were also held at the Signboard Bazaar Temple and at the Maghia Shiv and Kali Bari Temple in the upazila.
