Special Exercises of Joint Forces in Rangpur Marking JS Elections

Rangpur: Special exercises of joint forces including Rapid Action Battalion (RAB/SIF)-13 are continuing at various places of all eight districts of Rangpur division marking the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Elections and Referendum, 2026.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after reviewing all types of risks in all districts of Rangpur division, patrol activities of joint forces including RAB-13 are ongoing to maintain peace and order and ensure overall security in view of the upcoming JS Election and Referendum, a press release said today.



The joint exercise started from Boda Model Pilot School at 11 am, passed through Panchpeer and Sakoa, and concluded at Boda Upazila Parishad premises of Panchagarh at 02.40 pm on Monday. Officials and members of Boda Upazila Administration, RAB-13, and Bangladesh Army participated in the exercise.



A joint exercise to handle chaotic situations was conducted at Saidpur Government Primary School of Thakurgaon-1 constituency and Haripur Government Pilot High School of Thakurgaon-2 constituency from 2-4.30 pm on the same day. Members of Bangladesh Army and RAB-13 participated in the exercise.



In Dimla Upazila and Naotora Union areas of Nilphamari district, a joint exercise was held from 10 to 11 am on Monday by the joint forces including RAB-13. The exercise covered important roads and various areas of Dimla Thana area. Members of RAB-13, Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of Nilphamari RAB Camp, Bangladesh Police, and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) participated in this exercise.



During this time, the message of security was conveyed to the local people through armed patrols, vehicle monitoring, and public awareness activities. On the same date, a joint exercise of joint forces was held in Mithapukur area of Rangpur district from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. Officials and members of Mithapukur Upazila Administration, RAB-13, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, and BGB participated in the exercise.



The joint forces, including RAB-13, are on the highest alert to ensure the smooth voting rights of voters in the upcoming national elections and to make the elections free, fair, and peaceful. Security activities will continue to prevent any kind of sabotage, violence, rumors, terrorist activities, and criminal activities surrounding the elections.



At the same time, intelligence surveillance has been strengthened, and the situation will be kept under control through check posts, mobile patrols, and special operations. Strict legal action will be taken against identified criminals, terrorists, and drug dealers.



Talking to BSS at 2:40 pm today, the Additional Superintendent of Police and Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 noted that a similar special exercise of the joint forces is being held today, and it will continue in Rangpur division in the coming days.
