Bhola: Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram urged the treasury bench and the opposition to cooperate with each other to place a pro-people budget to bring comfort in public life. He made the remarks while replying to a query of reporters at Bhola Circuit House today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hafiz Uddin stated that he would ensure that the opposition gets adequate time in the parliament to fulfill its responsibilities. The Speaker noted that he had observed a spirit of cooperation between the ruling and opposition parties during previous parliamentary sessions and expressed hope that this cooperation would continue.
“In my view, the National Parliament has so far been able to meet the expectations of the people. In the coming days, they will be able to play an even better role,” he said. The Speaker expressed hope that all members of parliament would work to fulfill the aspirations and expectations that the people have regarding this parliament.
On the occasion of Eid, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed arrived in his home district of Bhola on a four-day visit on Tuesday afternoon. He made a stopover at the Bhola Circuit House before heading to his constituency, Lalmohan. Bhola Deputy Commissioner Dr Shamim Rahman, District Council Administrator Golam Nabi Alamgir, and Superintendent of Police Md Shahidullah Kawshar, among others, were present at the event.
