Dhaka: Wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan has expressed his determination to work diligently as he strives to secure a return to the national cricket team. Sohan, who has been in impressive form across various formats of the game, has found himself sidelined due to the current team combination.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, despite his strong performances, particularly in the last Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Sohan was once again overlooked for the Sri Lanka-bound ODI squad. Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, the chairman of the BCB selection panel, acknowledged Sohan’s commendable performance but cited the existing depth in wicket-keeper batters as a reason for his exclusion. Lipu assured that Sohan remains a consideration for future selections.

Sohan emphasized the importance of consistent performance over dwelling on the squad selection outcome. He reiterated his desire to represent the national team and acknowledged the role of luck in such opportunities. “The most important thing for me is to per
form,” he stated, emphasizing that he aims to let his performance speak for itself rather than making comments that could be perceived as disrespectful.

He further highlighted that maintaining momentum through consistent performances is crucial for his growth as a player. Sohan is focused on overcoming potential lean patches with the bat and believes that consistent performance will aid in building his momentum and strength for a future national team comeback.
