Satkhira: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a variety of smuggled goods, including Indian sarees, burqas, and medicines, during separate anti-smuggling operations in different border areas of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the goods were confiscated from various border areas under Bhomra, Kalyani, Kushkhali, Toluigacha, Kakdanga, Madra, Hiljadi, Chanduria, and Jhaudanga Border Outposts (BOPs) under the jurisdiction of Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa Police Stations. Acting on a tip-off, BGB teams carried out operations in these areas and seized items valued at Taka 16.50 lakh, informed Satkhira BGB-33 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque.
The Indian goods that were seized during these operations have been submitted to Satkhira Customs for further processing.
