Dhaka: Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Tuesday said Bangladesh will see a great election on February 12. After that, he said, there would be a smooth handover of power. “And I will return to my old ways – writing and reading, writing and reading and writing!! And guzzling enormous amounts of tea,” said the Press Secretary in brief remarks shared from his verified Facebook page.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Alam mentioned that there is a Cabinet (Council of Advisers) meeting scheduled for this Thursday, with hopes for another meeting the following week. Reflecting on the countdown to the election, he shared that initially the waiting days were in the triple digits, starting at 500 days. This then decreased to double digits with 90 days remaining, and now it has reached single digits with only nine days left.

Alam further noted that in terms of working days, there are only five days remaining, including today, Thursday, and the first three days of next week. His remarks indicate a sense of anticipation and readiness for the upcoming election and the subsequent transition of power.
