Six Killed in Noakhali Road Accident

Dhaka: Six people, including a woman, were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run autorickshaw at Kabirhat upazila on Tuesday afternoon. Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred in front of Islamia Senior Madrasa on the Kabirhat-Basurhat road around 2.15pm. A speeding truck heading towards Kabirhat collided head-on with a CNG-run autorickshaw, leaving five people, including the CNG driver, dead on the spot and another injured. The injured was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.



Police sources reported that the bodies of four of the deceased have been kept at Kabirhat Police Station and the bodies of two at the hospital. Kabirhat Fire Service Leader Firoz Alam and Kabirhat Upazila Health Officer Dr. SK Debnath confirmed the matter.
