Khulna: Police arrested Alamin Howladar alias Belu, also known as "Shooter Belu," with a locally made pipe gun and three rounds of shotgun ammunition in the city's Mirzapur area early Tuesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police apprehended Belu from a house in Amena Manzil, Bara Mirzapur, around 12:30 am following a tip-off, as stated by Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Md Shafiqul Islam. Belu is the son of Akbar Howladar from the East Baniakhammar area in the city.
During the raid, law enforcement officials recovered the firearm and ammunition from Belu's possession. In a preliminary interrogation, Belu reportedly confessed to engaging in criminal activities for monetary compensation at various locations.
Police revealed that Belu has two existing cases against him with Khulna police stations and another with Shahbagh Police Station in Dhaka. Following his arrest, a case has been filed against him under the Arms Act with the relevant police station, confirmed the Officer-in-Charge.
