Shilpakala Academy to Honor July Uprising Martyrs and Warriors

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is set to hold a commemorative meeting and honoring ceremony tomorrow, dedicated to the martyrs and those injured during the July Mass Uprising of 2024. The event aims to pay tribute to the sacrifices made during this pivotal moment in the country’s history.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme will commence at 6:30 pm at the National Music and Dance Centre auditorium. The event is organized by the academy under the guidance of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, ensuring a respectful and significant tribute to those affected.

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury will be present as the chief guest, highlighting the importance of the occasion. The event will also see the participation of State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom and the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, as special guests.

Cultural Affairs Secretary Kaniz Mowla is set to preside over the programme. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General, poet Rezauddin Stalin, will extend a warm welcome to attendees with his address. Academy Secretary Mohammad Zakir Hossain will conclude the ceremony by offering a vote of thanks.
