Shariful Alam Advocates for Politically Unbiased Incentive Distribution in Agriculture

Kishoreganj: State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md Shariful Alam today emphasized the importance of maintaining political neutrality in the distribution of government incentives intended for farmers. He directed officials to ensure that only genuine farmers benefit from these government schemes.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister stressed the significance of reviving the jute sector, which was once celebrated as the country’s “golden fiber” and a crucial element of the national heritage. He expressed the government’s commitment to restoring the jute industry to its former glory while inaugurating the free distribution of seeds and fertilizers to farmers in Kuliarchar, Kishoreganj.



The inauguration took place at the Upazila Parishad (UP) auditorium at 10:30 am. As part of the programme, 1,800 farmers in the upazila each received five kilograms of Aus paddy seeds, along with 10 kilograms of DAP and 10 kilograms of MOP fertilizers. Additionally, one kilogram of Tossa jute seeds was distributed to each of the 1,900 farmers.
