Shariatpur: BNP-nominated candidate for the Shariatpur-3 constituency, Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu, has expressed his intentions to transform Shariatpur into a modern and model district if elected. He aims to unite the community beyond political lines to achieve this goal.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Apu shared his plans in an exclusive interview, highlighting the BNP’s 31-point programme led by Tarique Rahman as the blueprint for Shariatpur’s development. He emphasized his personal commitment to addressing the district’s challenges, aspiring to create a peaceful and inclusive society.
Apu affirmed that his campaign team has adhered strictly to the election code of conduct and conveyed this instruction to his supporters. He stated that the people’s choice in the upcoming referendum on the July Charter would be respected, emphasizing the importance of voter expression.
Discussing expectations for the national parliamentary election, Apu expressed optimism that the public’s support for BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman would translate into electoral success. He identified the district’s neglect in education, healthcare, communication, and employment as priorities for development under the BNP’s proposed programme.
Reflecting on his past, Apu mentioned his eight-year imprisonment, describing it as a period of persecution which he has since entrusted to divine justice.
The Shariatpur-3 constituency candidates include Apu from BNP, Muhammad Azaharul Islam from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Md Abdul Hannan from Jatiya Party, and Hanif Mia from Islami Andolon Bangladesh.
