Dhaka: Lailatul Qadr, known as Shab-e-Qadr, the holiest night for Muslims, will be observed across the country on Monday night with due solemnity and religious fervor. Muslim devotees are set to spend the night seeking divine blessings for peace and progress for both the country and the Muslim Ummah.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the holy Quran regards this night as superior to a thousand nights, as it was on this glorified night that the Quran was revealed to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), guiding mankind towards both worldly and eternal emancipation. Devout Muslims typically spend the night engaged in special prayers, Quran recitation, milad mahfils, zikr, and other religious rituals in mosques and at home.
Many also visit graveyards to seek divine blessings for the departed souls of their loved ones. Newspapers are set to publish special articles, while state-run Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television, and private TV channels will air special programs highlighting the significance of Lailatul Qadr.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman extended his greetings to the nation and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of Lailatul Qadr. In his message on Sunday, he extended heartfelt greetings and mubarakbad to Muslims globally, including those in Bangladesh, in honor of the sacred night.
The prime minister described Lailatul Qadr as a glorious and blessed night, emphasizing that the Holy Quran was revealed during this sacred night in Ramadan. He remarked that Almighty Allah declared the night more valuable than a thousand months, offering a message of mercy, forgiveness, and well-being for humanity. He added that the night offers a unique opportunity for believers to seek closeness to Almighty Allah through prayers, repentance, and supplication.
Highlighting Ramadan's significance, Tarique Rahman pointed out that the holy month encourages restraint, self-purification, tolerance, and the awakening of human values. He stated that Lailatul Qadr's teachings inspire people to promote peace, justice, and welfare in their personal, social, and national lives.
He called on everyone to increase prayers and devotion, urging people to dedicate themselves to humanity's welfare by understanding the importance of the sacred night. Tarique Rahman also prayed for the infinite mercy and blessings of Lailatul Qadr to be bestowed upon all, hoping that Almighty Allah guides the nation and its people toward progress, peace, harmony, and prosperity. He expressed hope that the spiritual significance of the holy night would bring peace, harmony, and well-being to all lives.
