Seven New COVID-19 Cases Reported in 24 Hours

Dhaka: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today confirmed seven new COVID-19 infections in the country over a 24-hour period from 8 am Tuesday to 8 am Wednesday.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 217 samples were tested during this time, yielding a positivity rate of 3.23 percent, as stated by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).



However, no fatalities were reported from COVID-19 during this period. The cumulative death toll since the pandemic began in 2020 stands at 29,524.



The first COVID-19 case in the country was detected on March 8, 2020. Ten days later, on March 18 of the same year, the first death from the virus was recorded.
