Dhaka: The government has announced the promotion of seven additional secretaries to the rank of secretary. The Ministry of Public Administration has issued an official order regarding these promotions, signed by Deputy Secretary Jamila Shabnam.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly promoted secretaries include Aleya Akter, who previously served as Additional Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry and will now become the Secretary to the Statistics and Informatics Division. Md Kamal Uddin, formerly Additional Secretary of the Housing and Public Works Ministry, has been appointed as Secretary to the Cultural Affairs Ministry. Md Tajul Islam, who held the position of Chairman (Grade-1) at Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), will take over as Secretary to the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED).
Furthermore, Md Mizanur Rahman, previously Registrar (Additional Secretary) of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, has been named Secretary to the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat. Mohammad Abdur Rouf, who served as Additional Project Director (Additional Secretary) of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project, will now be the Secretary to the Bridges Division. Zaheda Perveen, formerly an Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division, has been promoted to Secretary (Coordination and Reforms) within the same division. Lastly, Mahbubur Rahman, who was Additional Secretary of the ICT Division, will assume the role of Secretary to the Ministry of Commerce.
In addition to the promotions, the Public Administration Ministry has issued two other notifications regarding the transfer of two secretaries. Md Mahmudul Hossain Khan, previously Secretary (Coordination and Reforms) of the Cabinet Division, has been transferred to the position of Member (Secretary) of the Planning Commission. Md Mostafizur Rahman, who was Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Public Administration Ministry, has been appointed as Secretary to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
