Rajshahi:A seminar focused on Statistics and Data Science was conducted today at the Faculty of Engineering Gallery of Rajshahi University (RU).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event featured Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid as the chief guest. The keynote paper, titled "From Classical Statistics to Agentic AI and LLMs the Evolution and Future to Data Science," was presented by M Manjur Mahmud, president of DataSoft Systems Bangladesh Ltd.
The seminar was organized by the Department of Statistics and Data Science and was presided over by the department's Chairman, Prof Mansur Rahman. Prof Md. Rezaul Karim, from the same department, also contributed as an invited speaker. During the inauguration, Prof Mamunur Rashid emphasized the importance of statistical data analysis and its application for the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He expressed the need for more discussion and research in this area.
The Pro-VC hoped that the insights shared in the seminar would guide further research in the field, highlighting the seminar's potential to make significant contributions toward advancing AI-related studies. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session where presenters addressed various queries from attendees.
Prof Monimul Haque of the department moderated the seminar, which was attended by teachers, researchers, students, and others interested in Statistics and Data Science.
