Rajshahi: A seminar focused on higher education opportunities in the United States of America was held at the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET). The event was organized by the RUET Students Welfare Office and Career Forum, and took place in the conference hall of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seminar was titled 'Prospects of Higher Education in USA' and featured Vice-chancellor Prof SM Abdur Razzaque, Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Islam Sarker, and Assistant Director Abu Ismail Siddiqui as resource persons. They shared their expertise on the topic with attendees.
RUET students, along with representatives from Education USA and the American Corner in Rajshahi, participated in the seminar. They engaged in discussions on various aspects related to pursuing higher education in the USA.
The seminar covered topics such as eligibility criteria for admission to US universities and the application process for student visas. Participants were informed that currently, 20,156 Bangladeshi students are in the USA for higher education.
The seminar highlighted information from the Institute of International Education (IIE), indicating that Bangladesh ranks 9th among the fastest-growing countries in terms of the number of international students.
