Seminar on higher education and employment in France held at RU

A participatory seminar on higher education, employment and scholarship in France was held at the Rajshahi University (RU) here today.

Institute of English and other languages of the university organized the seminar at the lecture gallery of the Engineering Faculty discussing and devising the ways and means on how to expand the sector.

Pro-vice-chancellors Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam and Prof Humayun Kabir and Treasurer Prof Obayedur Rahman Pramanik addressed the seminar as resource persons with Director of the institute Prof Qabdullah Al Mamun in the chair.

Cultural Attaché of the France Embassy in Dhaka Yoyan Zigarel and Campus Manager of France Bangladesh Syeda Nasiba Hossain addressed the meeting as focal persons.

In his remarks, Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam said France is one of the largest countries in the field of scholarship, higher education and employment and the RU students and researchers can avail the scopes there.

Both sides talked about how to boost cooperation towards the educational fields of RU, particularly the social science and fine arts.

Various other cooperation issues, including exchange of teachers, students and researchers, conducting higher education related research, arranging speeches and book publication, were discussed elaborately.
