Dhaka: Agriculture department today distributed Aus paddy seeds and fertilizers among 3,000 small and marginal farmers of Sadar upazila to increase the paddy production in the Kharip-1 season. Deputy Commissioner Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman distributed the agri-inputs among the farmers as the chief guest at a function held at the upazila parishad premises this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud Bhuiyan. The function was addressed by Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain, Upazila Agriculture Officer Muslima Khanam Nilu, and Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Anwar Hossain.
Each of the farmers received 5 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP, and 10 kg of MOP chemical fertilizers. The initiative aims to bolster agricultural productivity in the region by providing necessary inputs to the local farmers.
