Seeds, Fertilizers Distributed Among 1570 Farmers in Gopalganj

Gopalganj: Seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among 1,570 small and marginal farmers of Tungipara upazila of the district under an agriculture incentive programme. The distribution took place on the premises of the Upazila Agriculture Office around 10:30 am, initiated by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was graced by the presence of Md. Khair Uddin Mollah, Additional Director of DAE, Faridpur Region, as the chief guest, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farzana Akhter presiding over the proceedings. Notable attendees included Dr. Md. Mamunur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Gopalganj, Additional Deputy Director Md. Abul Bashar Mia, Tungipara Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Mithun Sarkar, along with local farmers and officials.

The distribution focused on seeds and fertilizers for khasari, lentil, and mustard crops, benefiting a total of 1,570 farmers. Each farmer received 8 kg of khasari seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer. Additionally, for mustard cultivation, 1 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP, and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer were provided, whereas for lentil cultivation, 2 kg of seeds, 10.5 kg of DAP, and 5 kg of MOP were distributed among each participant.
