Seeds, Fertilizer Distributed Among Farmers in Pirojpur

Pirojpur: Seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed among small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila. The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) launched the distribution programme at the Farmers Training Hall this morning of the upazila parishad for the fiscal year 2025-26 with the aim of increasing crops production.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Upazila Nirbahi Officer S. M. Al-Amin was present as the chief guest at the inaugural programme jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension. The event was presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Shawkat Hossain.

The speakers at the event highlighted the significance of the government initiative, stating that it will play an important role in reducing production costs for small and marginal farmers, increasing crop production, and achieving self-reliance in agriculture. Later, seeds and chemical fertilizers of various crops, including onion, moong dal, lentil, wheat, corn, peanut, and soybean, were distributed free of cost among the farmers.
