Palashbari: Free seeds and fertilizers were distributed among 2,840 small and marginal farmers in Palashbari upazila of the district under the Agricultural Incentive Program to increase the cultivation of Rabi crops. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamrul Hasan formally distributed the seed and fertilizers yesterday evening among the farmers at a function held at the upazila agriculture office premises as the chief guest with the upazila agriculture officer Fatema Kawsar Mishu in the chair.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, each of the farmers received 20 kg of wheat seed, 2 kg of maize seed, one kg of mustard seed, 10 kg of groundnut seed, one kg of onion seed, 5 kg of pulse seed and 8 kg of soya bean oil seed. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bolster agricultural productivity and support farmers in the region by providing essential resources that are otherwise difficult for small and marginal farmers to access.

The distribution event was a significant step towards enhancing the yield of Rabi
crops in Palashbari, ensuring that farmers have the necessary inputs to grow and sustain their crops. The Agricultural Incentive Program aims to not only improve food security but also to uplift the economic status of farmers in the district by reducing their production costs and increasing their income potential.
