Dhaka: Security has been significantly heightened at Dhaka's Evercare Hospital, where BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment. Police installed a barricade at the hospital's main gate early today, and more than two dozen officers were deployed to manage crowds and ensure her safety. Surrounding cabins on her fourth-floor unit have been vacated for security reasons.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khaleda Zia, 80, has been receiving treatment in the CCU since being admitted on November 23 with heart and lung infections. A medical board of local and foreign specialists is monitoring her condition.
